Questionable Women

Questionable Women Posted on August 26, 20121 Comment

Just a quick one this time (!), to say thank you for the overwhelming (and overwhelmingly lovely) response to my last post. I’ve been sent far more questions than I expected, so it looks like this will turn into something a bit bigger than just a single blog post.

I’ve also put together a panel of several fabulous and inspiring female cyclists (including Sarah Outen, Eleanor Moseman, Loretta Henderson and Rachel Hugens – still waiting to hear from a couple more), and I’m really looking forward to finding out what they have to say. I suspect this will be as enlightening for me as it will for anyone else.

The first lot of questions will hopefully be answered this week (look out for an update next weekend), but there’s no deadline, so no matter how late you’ve come to this, please feel free to get in touch. If you’re stuck for what to ask, think about setting off on a trip like this yourself, and then try to identify what’s stopping you from trying.

And if you’re looking for inspiration and reassurance in the meantime, I strongly recommend you check out Loretta’s WoW (Women on Wheels) page – probably the biggest collection of solo female cyclists you’ll ever find, and one of the things that helped convince me to hit the road myself.
